Center the hardware horizontally on the stile between 2 and 4 inches down from the top edge. My cabinet maker recommended that we put the door knob at the same height as regular indoor doors 36 as that is what would feel natural. Line the top edge of the hardware with the bottom edge of the top rail or center it on the frame.
